The Sagrantino from Domenico Pennacchi is a showstopper but the IGT rosso takes the cake as the outrageous value. Comprised of 30% Sagrantino 25% Montepulciano 20%Ciliegiolo, and 25% Merlot this "lowly IGT" is what makes Italian wine is so interesting. Full of fruit with definite earthiness and a little tannin, this is unique and familiar all at once. Pair with something off the grill, Pork chops, or even tuna steak.
